Our mission is to build strong and vibrant African communities by creating a central hub that connects individuals and groups with the resources they need to thrive.
OUR VISION
The vision of AfroConnect NZ is to foster a brighter future for African communities living in New Zealand. To create a society in which African communities in New Zealand are empowered and connected by providing them with the necessary resources to thrive.
AfroConnect NZ seeks to cultivate strong, supportive, and inclusive communities that contribute to the development and growth of New Zealand as a whole.
OUR STORY
We are a Hamilton based registered charitable trust. We are here in the mighty Waikato but maintain our connection with African communities across Aotearoa.
AfroConnect is made up of people from different parts of the African continent who share a common interest to work together for the benefit of the wellbeing of its members in New Zealand through varieties of events and engagements.
We are incredibly excited about our journey so far and looking forward to all the awesome things we can do for our community.

Our Mahi: What We Do
We have identified four priority areas that matter to our people. Our actions and events aim to impact community wellbeing in these spaces.

We understand the vital importance of health in overall well-being, and work to provide information, resources and services where possible that promote physical and mental health.
Housing
We seek to provide the necessary information and resources. This includes providing information on the housing market, tenant rights, and available resources for first-time home-buyers.
Education
We believe in the transformative power of education and are committed to providing access to educational resources and tools that promote academic success.
Employment
AfroConnect NZ recognizes that employment is fundamental to building stable and secure communities and is committed to providing African communities with the tools and resources needed to achieve meaningful employment and contribute to New Zealand’s economy.
