Our Mission

Our mission is to build strong and vibrant African communities by creating a central hub that connects individuals and groups with the resources they need to thrive.

We aim to provide information, tools and services that promote empowerment and inclusion for all African communities, with a focus on education, health, housing and employment.

Our goal is to create a supportive and welcoming environment that helps African communities overcome the unique challenges they face in New Zealand, from language and cultural barriers to lack of access to helpful resources. Where are you located?
Our trustees are based in Hamilton; however, we are committed to supporting individuals throughout New Zealand. While we currently don’t have a physical office, you can reach us through the email and phone number listed on our Contact page.
What does AfroConnect NZ do?
AfroConnect NZ addresses the cultural, social, professional, and academic needs of the African community in New Zealand. We also advocate for the community on relevant policy issues, ensuring their voices are heard and interests are represented at various levels.
Who runs AfroConnect NZ?
AfroConnect NZ is guided by a dedicated board of trustees who have supported the organization since its inception. We are actively seeking volunteers interested in joining our executive board to help further our mission.

Yes. AfroConnect NZ is a registered charitable trust, registered with Charities Services.
How can I get involved or offer support?
We welcome volunteers to maximize the impact of our grants and donations. If you or someone you know is available to volunteer, we would love to hear from you!
