With over 20,000 African born citizens living in New Zealand, the need for support networks and resources has become even more paramount. AfroConnect NZ is a new charitable trust aimed at providing sustainable support for African communities living in New Zealand.
Our mission is to help build strong and vibrant African communities by creating a central hub that connects individuals and groups with the resources they need to thrive. We aim to provide information, tools and services that promote empowerment and inclusion for all African communities, with a focus on education, health, housing and employment.
AfroConnect NZ recognizes the unique challenges faced by African communities in New Zealand, from language and cultural barriers, to lack of access to helpful resources. That’s why we strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment, where individuals are given a voice, respected, and supported on their journey towards creating a better future.
Through community events, cultural activities, and workshops, we will foster growth and interaction within the African community, providing a platform for members to share knowledge, skills and opportunities. We believe in the strength of collective support, and our goal is to create a valuable and enduring African community in New Zealand.
